We are sharing the email below about an important film: "The Plastic Country" premiering this Sunday at 9am on You Tube.
In light of the Federal Environment Minister notifying that the Government will not proceed on national mandatory packaging reform (including introducing Extended Producer Responsibility or EPR), the team have decided to release The Plastic Country film for free on YouTube this Sunday.
Coinciding with national media including mainstream news, breakfast TV from Sunday leading into the National Environment Ministers meeting 17-18 September the film release could not be more timely.
A few key details:
- Premiere: Sunday 13 September, 9:00am AEST, free worldwide on YouTube
- Watch link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU5e90uGo5A
- Pledge tool (so viewers can email their local Federal MP and help push for real change): https://www.theplasticcountry.com/
Hoping you can view it!

Subject: It's happening: The Plastic Country premieres free on YouTube this Sunday!
Hi everyone,
What an incredible journey this has been so far! Thanks to people like you, The Plastic Country has had over 300 community screening requests and sold-out screenings right across the country. That momentum is exactly why we're thrilled to share this next step with you.
The Plastic Country will premiere for free, worldwide, on YouTube this Sunday 13 September at 9:00am AEST.
This is a huge moment. For the first time, everyone, not just those who could make it to a screening, will be able to watch the film that's already brought so many communities, schools and workplaces together. And with the National Environment Ministers meeting happening just days later, the timing couldn't be better to show just how many Australians care about this issue!
Here's how you can be part of the moment:
- Set a reminder and watch on Sunday at 9am AEST: gather your community, school or workplace and watch together
- Share the film with your networks once it's live
- Visit theplasticcountry.com to use our pledge tool and email your local Federal MP, inviting them to take the pledge for Absolutely, Positively No More Plastic Country
Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AU5e90uGo5A
You've already helped build something remarkable. This Sunday, let's show the whole country what's possible when communities lead the way.
Thank you for being part of it, we can't wait to watch together!
Warm regards,
The Plastic Country team
