Our next General Meeting will be held on Thursday April 28th at 7.30 pm in the Uniting Church Meeting Room opposite the Coles Car Park, Carrier Street, Benalla.
Our guest Speaker will be Veronica Schilling, General Manager, Development and Environment, for Benalla Rural City. Veronica will speak about the council’s new Environment Strategy which has been developed following a review of the existing 2011-2015 policy statement. She will speak about the matters covered in the Environment Strategy as well as the question of “Where to from here?”
The Guest Speaker at our previous meeting in February was Martina Rienzner, Hume Region Strategic Coordinator for Statewide Engagement for Sustainability Victoria. Marina spoke about the role of Sustainability Victoria; changes in its role under the current state government; Sustainability Victoria’s role in relation to taking/encouraging action on climate change and the outcomes of the regional climate change forums that were held around Victoria.
